Keynote Address by Cadmus Delorme
Cadmus Delorme, a Cree and Saulteaux leader from Cowessess First Nation, served as Chief from 2016 to 2023, championing cultural rejuvenation, political sovereignty, and economic self-sustainability. Under his leadership, Cowessess advanced in child welfare reform, renewable energy, and governance. A respected academic, he holds a Master’s in Public Administration and has been honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond and Platinum Jubilee Medals. In 2023, he co-founded OneHoop Advisory Services and Flowing River Capital Group, driving business through the lens of reconciliation. Delorme is widely recognized for bridging Indigenous knowledge with innovation and governance.

Norma Rabbitskin
Josephine Wichihin, a respected Elder, Knowledge Keeper, and Water Bundle Carrier from Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, is a powerful voice for cultural healing and Indigenous women’s safety. She safeguards traditional water teachings and leads ceremonies that honour life, birth, and healing. As a cultural consultant for the Nihtāwiki Birthing Centre, she bridges Cree knowledge with medical care, guiding midwives in creating culturally rooted spaces. Josephine is a steadfast advocate for Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women, offering ceremony, comfort, and teachings grounded in mâmitonêyicikan — the act of caring deeply. Through her mentorship of youth and collaboration with other Elders, she nurtures cultural resurgence with humility, strength, and unwavering devotion.
