Salary Information: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is CAD $60,000 ($30.77/hr) to $72,000 ($36.92/hr) per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Benefits: Following a successful probationary period, employees are eligible for a comprehensive group health benefit plan; the employee is eligible for an employer matched contribution group RSP program following the probationary period and three additional months of employment.

Organization Description
The Saskatchewan First Nations Water Association (SFNWA) is an incorporated not-for-profit, charitable organization that strives to support First Nations Water Systems Operators and other water staff in strengthening their capacity to learn about and operate their drinking water and wastewater systems on reserve. This includes but is not limited to, providing networking opportunities, the development of training materials, and research and communication on wise practices related to water treatment, monitoring and management, and policy development. The SFNWA is governed by a 12-person board of directors composed of First Nation Water System Operators and other First Nation and allied professionals who work in the areas of water and health.
Primary Purpose
As a valued member of the SFNWA, the successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative team to satisfy the goals and objectives of the SFNWA. The Information Analyst (IA) will work with the Executive Director and other SFNWA staff to gather information from members, conduct research on relevant issues and policies, and share findings and SFNWA programs with members. The IA will also work directly with the SFNWA Learning Management System to assist membership with certification and educational programming.
Nature of Work
The IA will engage with members and nation leadership to gather information, conduct research, and relay findings on relevant issues related to water systems operations, management, and policy. The ideal candidate will value the perspectives and experiences of First Nations water professionals and strive to improve programming and policies for First Nations water. They will have a strong commitment to engage and empower the SFNWA membership through effective communication and delivery of high-quality information and materials. This role requires a highly organized, motivated, and resourceful individual who can effectively manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Engage with the SFNWA staff, board members, and membership to uncover key policy issues and insights on First Nations water and wastewater operations and management
Monitor legislation, government reports, and academic studies related to water policy and practices
Conduct research on relevant issues; liaise with researchers, and industry and government representatives
Synthesize research findings and SFNWA programs into easy-to-understand reports, newsletters, and fact sheets
Work with SFNWA staff to develop and incorporate educational materials into the Learning Management System
Assist membership to access and use their individual Learning Management System accounts; work with members to ensure their certification is up to date
Assist the SFNWA staff and board of directors with organizing an annual general meeting, conference and trade show
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
College/university degree or equivalent related to information science, communications, and/or social science research
Experience conducting literature searches and other research methods
Previous success working with First Nation individuals and nations
Understanding and/or appreciation of an Indigenous worldview
Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
Skills
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences
Comfort in working with diverse groups, including First Nations leaders and water professionals
An understanding of various methods of knowledge transfer
Proficiency with software including Microsoft Office, learning management tools, and other relevant programs and applications
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate resources
Ability to gather, synthesize, and interpret complex information
This position will suit an individual who is committed to upholding standards of equity, transparency, consistency and attention to detail. Potential candidates will preferably identify as Indigenous or have Indigenous living experience, and a proven record of working well with Indigenous people. Experience working with First Nations in Saskatchewan and/or demonstrating knowledge of issues related to First Nations drinking water and/or wastewater are assets that will be considered.
The SFNWA office is situated on the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation urban reserve.

Nature of Work: The Event Assistant will perform duties as directed by SFNWA staff, including procurement of sponsors, door prizes, and promotion of the event. The successful candidate will also proactively engage with existing and potential new members in assisting with event registrations. This role requires a highly organized, motivated, and resourceful individual who can effectively manage multiple projects while maintaining a high level of detail.
Education and Experience Requirements
Some College/University in a related field is an asset, though not a prerequisite
Previous experience in event planning and social media content creation would be an asset
Knowledge of membership recruitment strategies is an asset
Understanding and/or appreciation of an Indigenous worldview
Valid driver’s license and access to an insured automobile required
Responsibilities

Work with SFNWA staff to contact sponsors and procure door prizes
Coordinate with Event Coordinator in scheduling events within the conference calendar
Develop a strategy for recruitment and increased engagement of youth for the event
Assist with conference registration process for new and existing members

Potential candidates will preferably identify as Indigenous or have Indigenous living experience, and/or a proven record of working smoothly with Indigenous people. Experience in working with First Nations in Saskatchewan and/or demonstrating knowledge of issues related to First Nations drinking water and/or wastewater would be assets taken under consideration. The successful candidate may have an extension of employment offered into September for assistance at the event itself. This would include working with staff, board of directors, and volunteers at the event in September to ensure proper utilization of resources.
