Our objectives are:

  • Provide opportunities for education, training, networking and skills enhancement to the staff involved in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems.

  • Create a professional network for all those involved in water management on reserve lands.

  • Establish formal First Nations water and wastewater certification programs.

  • Establish a formal environmental control facilities classification system (database).

  • Become affiliated with professional organizations to ensure consistency in certification and classification.

  • Support operators and water staff to achieve regulatory compliance.

  • Work with university researchers to investigate industry innovations and wise practices for water treatment and management.

  • Promote health and safety in the workplace.

  • Host an Annual General Meeting, Conference and Trade Show; and sponsor workshops.
