Operator Certification & Training Update
Did you know that WPI’s standardized certification exams are changing? Except for Saskatchewan’s wastewater test, exams are based on the ‘usual’ tasks of a municipal water operator. We all know that water plants on-reserve are not ‘usually’ like a municipality, which is why we are working hard to adapt the new list of tasks to training and exams that reflect the work you do in your communities.
Serving Operators in Our Mandate!
SFNWA is committed to supporting water operators across First Nations communities in Saskatchewan by providing essential training, resources, and networking opportunities. Our mandate focuses on enhancing the skills and knowledge of operators involved in the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems, ensuring they meet high standards of water quality. By offering ongoing education and preparing them for certification exams, SFNWA empowers operators to excel in their roles and effectively serve their communities. With experienced leaders, including board members who are active water operators, we remain closely connected to the needs and challenges faced by those on the front lines of water management.
Connection & Learning
At the heart of SFNWA is a commitment to fostering connections and continuous learning among water professionals. Through workshops, mentorship programs, and collaborative events, we create opportunities for operators to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and build lasting networks. By prioritizing connection and learning, SFNWA ensures that water operators are equipped with the tools and community support they need to thrive in their vital roles, safeguarding water quality for First Nations communities across Saskatchewan.
